Kim R. Harris is a native of Chicago Illinois and currently a resident of Holland, MI. She currently holds the office of Executive Board Chairperson for the African American Awareness and Development Organization since May 2015. She is also the Committee Juneteenth chairperson. Ms. Harris attended Davenport University, majoring in Paralegal Studies and earning her B.S. She was the Founder of the Grand Rapids Academic Enrichment Center of Innovations founded in 2012. She is the Author of a children’s book “I am Special and So Are You” published by Schuler Books. The book inspired her philanthropic giving. She is a former City of Holland appointed Human Relation Commissioner. Ms. Harris has been awarded several prestigious awards: The Grand Rapids Award Program, the Joan Wolfe Award (WMEAC), the Michigan Service Scholar Award AmeriCorps VISTA, the Michigan Campus Compact Commitment to Service Award, and countless other awards. She is also the former Youth Director of the Grand Rapids Dream organization. Ms. Harris has implemented several pilot programs that will convene in 2016: Media Smart and ParentCampHolland. Ms. Harris has served on numerous boards, advisory boards, and commissions.
Trina Poston is a Senior Continuous Improvement Champion at Haworth, Inc. in Holland, MI where she is responsible for continuous improvement (Lean) consulting and facilitation.
Prior to Haworth, Trina has was employed by Spectrum Health where she served in Performance Improvement, Clinical Program Management and Education and Training roles. She brings additional experience in business and technical analytics, as well as operations and strategic program management for past roles with Hyatt, Lakeland Regional Health System and the Amway Corporation.
Trina is a graduate of Grand Valley State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Communications with a minor in Sociology. She also holds a Master of Science (MS) in Administration from Central Michigan University with graduate certificates in Information Resources Management, Human Resources and Health Services Administration. She also a certified Project Management Professional (PMP®) and Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ).
Trina has served a number of boards and committees in the Grand Rapids area and is privileged to join AAADO.
Svetoslav Pavlov is a graduate from the University of Latvia, Michigan State University, Grand Valley State University, and Davenport University. His education includes an MS in Computer Information Systems and an MBA in Accounting. In addition, he has several technology certificates from CompTIA and Microsoft. He is a native of Riga, Latvia and currently lives in Jenison, Michigan. As an educator, he has taught a wide range of subjects in Latvian high schools and in Michigan colleges. His involvement in community life includes numerous presentations and panel discussions. He has volunteered as a board member and the webmaster at American Association of Teachers of Slavic and the East European Languages. He was formerly a member of the Boren Fulbright committees at GVSU and a faculty advisory counsel to student organizations at GVSU.
Lauren Uren is a native and current resident of Holland, Michigan. With this history, she has developed a passion and a deep feeling of responsibility to this community. In previous years she has been a volunteer for Juneteenth and other AAADO events. Lauren has been acting Secretary on the Executive Board since August 2015. She is currently enrolled in and attending Grand Rapids Community College for Automotive Technology with plans of continuing to Ferris State University.
